FTH Player of the Year Jaylen Hands headlines All-Region teams

For the second time in as many years, the Full-Time Hoops Player of the Year hails from Foothills Christian, is headed to UCLA and is a McDonald's All-American.

Last year, it was 6-foot-10 TJ Leaf who led his team to a runaway victory in the CIF Title game over Cathedral Catholic.

This year, it's Jaylen Hands.

Hands, a 6-3 point guard, was originally slated to play with Leaf as a junior after transferring from Mater Dei Catholic, but a CIF ruling thwarted the pairing, and Hands spent his junior year at Balboa Prep. After being cleared by CIF for his final year, Hands wowed fans with his electric athleticism and playmaking ability, willing an otherwise mundane supporting cast to exhilarating heights (the Under Armour Holiday Classic National Division Title) and a strong regular season.

Statistically, Hands' dominance speaks for itself, scoring 29.5 points per game, while grabbing 7.9 rebounds and handing out 6.2 assists per game, all team highs.

But perhaps more importantly, he has become the biggest attraction San Diego has seen in quite some time, packing games with young hoopers who hang on to his every exploits.

For those reasons, Hands is the clear-cut choice for Full-Time Hoops Player of the Year. Here is the rest of the Al-FTH San Diego Section Team.
