A changing of the guard: A Full-Time Hoops 2026 class preview

It's early, but the Class of 2026 is shaping up to be a special one in San Diego. And it's the guards that are leading the way.

Over the summer and fall, the freshman class has already made an impact for their respective teams. Ty Ingram starred for San Ysidro in the gauntlet that is the Section 7 Team Camp. Jayden Gray has spearheaded a new-look Victory Christian team to impressive wins. CJ Aldrich led his team to the finals of the RBV Summer League and only one loss during their summer campaign.

In this article, we look at who are some of the names set to have an immediate impact for their teams (there are a lot), who are primed for later success and who are some of the sleepers in the class to keep an eye on.

Who's on Top?

As I mentioned before, the 2026 class has a number of freshmen set to make an immediate impact on the varsity level. Of those, I'd say that six have established themselves as the very top of the class: 6-2 San Ysidro G Ty Ingram, 6-1 St. Augustine G Jaden Bailes, 6-1 Victory Christian G Jayden Gray, 5-10 Rancho Buena Vista G CJ Aldrich, 6-3 wing Julian "JuJu" Lebel and 6-2 Torrey Pines G Zander Ovies.
