For a number of basketball players throughout San Diego, Christmas is actually Dec. 27.


That's the day that players who had to "sit out" after transferring schools without a move or a hardship are eligible to participate in varsity competition. And for the first time in San Diego, these players will be able to participate in the post-Christmas tournaments.


Which teams will benefit the most from the sit-out-period's end? Who is the biggest impact transfer?


Here's a quick primer.


Five teams who get the biggest sit-out-period boost


1. Scripps Ranch

In terms of sheer numbers, the Falcons have the biggest contingent of guys becoming eligible Tuesday, including the biggest prize of the SOP sweepstakes, St. Augustine transfer Kai Brown. The 6-0 combo guard was a key reserve for St. Augustine during it's Open Division run last year. Now, he immediately becomes the primary option for a Scripps Ranch team that has acquitted itself well up until this point. 6-5 Mater Dei Catholic transfer Micah Brickner is perhaps just as valuable, as he provides the team with size and athleticism it has lacked to this point. Junior guards Miles Thomas and Makai-Hill Ali will add depth to a solid back court corps.
